FreeBSD 13.2 and 14.0 template updates
A bit of a shorter one this week, but we’ve rolled out the FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE template across our regions for those interested. Ping your account manager if its not available in your list of templates.
FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE was released in April this year, but was only rolled out to Sydney. This version has a few interesting new features, including a kernel Wireguard driver, and Address Space Layout Randomisation being enabled by default for 64-bit binaries.
We’ve also had the upcoming 14.0 branch in testing as a VM template, and it works stupendously well on our Xen architecture. Stay tuned in November for when this goes live.
Spin up a FreeBSD VM to try if you haven’t before. There’s a lot you’ll be familiar with coming from Linux or big iron UNIX.
